Gaia, in collaboration with BioInsight has been involved with the EIA for the interconnection between Metoro and Palma in the Cabo Delgado Province.

The Project under consideration is currently the subject of a Feasibility Study and includes:

- A new power transmission line prepared to operate at 400 thousand Volts (400 kV) but which in the initial phase should operate at 220 kV, making the connection between the future Metoro and Palma substations, with an extension of about 301 km;

- A new substation in Metoro (in practice, the expansion of a substation already approved but not yet built);

- A new substation in Palma.

This project is currently being managed by our team in Lisbon, Portugal and Maputo, Mozambique.
