Gaia, in collaboration with Mozambique Women of Energy, have support one of the pioneer projects in Mozambique relating to energy access. The Solar Giraffe is a Carlos Morgado Foundation Project, funded by the Irish Embassy of Mozambique. It is situated in the Mangunze Locality in the District of Chongoene in Gaza Province. It is a women managed solar powered community space with 10 cellphone charging stations and a radio. It was officially inaugurated in December 2020.

Our team has done an initial assessment in order to gauge community awareness, acceptance and usage of the solar giraffe. Additionally, a general impact report has been developed. Our business intelligence unit has provided information relating to the global exposure of the proposed project.
